No. Approval rests solely with SEDENA, Mexico's Ministry of National Defense. The assessment checks whether you meet the basic requirements and which documents you are missing before you start.
Why do you ask about a criminal record?
Because if there is a criminal record, SEDENA does not issue the permit even if every other requirement is met. Your answer is kept confidential and used only with your express consent.
Does Castro Defense sell firearms?
No. Castro Defense provides advisory and paperwork services only and does not sell, store or transport firearms or ammunition. Purchases take place only at SEDENA's arms sales directorate (DCAM).
Does SEDENA charge for guidance on the process?
No. The DCAM states that its procedures, inquiries and guidance are free and that it has no outside staff providing them; government fees are paid directly through the federal e5cinco scheme. Castro Defense is a private, independent firm and does not act on SEDENA's behalf.
